Results & Match Reports |
FCEK kept up their challenge for the top winning away against Albert at the Fletcher Moss (we believe Fr M was able to complete this week's match inviolate) Ethel Rodin are also firing on all cylinders of late - they beat Snoopy's in a close encounter at the Red St Caths, however, are not having such a good time - they went down to the History Men at St Caths Club Out in front Fifth Finger cruised home, away at the Sun in September against the X-Pats and finally Albert Park had an easy victory against the wooden-spoonists from the Opsimaths in the first of the season's Albert Club derbies |
Quiz Paper Verdict |
This week the paper was set by the Pigs. A good solid quiz with a number of popular questions. The aggregate from around the grounds was 71.0 which is slap bang on average for the season. Our only gripe at the Albert Club (at least with the paper that is) was the length of time it took us to get through. Counting the Presidents and PMs, and then getting three Irish Nobel prize winners took ages - although these questions were greatly enjoyed - and were correctly answered. All said, a good evening's quizzing leaving Fifth on top of the table with FCEK, the History Men and Ethel Rodin chasing hard in second, third and fourth places. Next week at the Griffin, FCEK challenge the all-powerful Fingers. Could there be an upset? Watch this space!! |
The Question of the Week |
The unanimous nomination this week was for Round 3 Question 1: Which child of 8 was horribly murdered in Hampshire in 1867 and has given her name to a well known saying, ambiguous because of its initials? Click here to see the answers to this and the rest of the week's questions and answers. |
