Quiz Paper Verdict

Electric Pigs set this season's first paper and got good marks all round.  "A good solid start" seems to sum up the feedback.  The catholic spread of subject matter was to everybody's taste.

The Question of the Week

This week the award goes to Round 3 Q1:

Which words, appearing consecutively in a dictionary, have the following definitions:

- a condiment of fruits or vegetables, vinegar & sugar;

- shameless audacity?

Chatterbox

Sadly St Caths have had to scratch from this season's Withquiz competition. Mike Heale has been unable to get a team together and rang Gary and myself a few days ago to give us the news.

The hope that the Albert Club could field another team has not materialised so we will now have just 10 teams for the season.

I have adjusted the fixture list so that all the St Caths matches have been erased.  As a result each team will have 2 Wednesdays free (in addition to the Wednesdays when they are due to set).  The Opsimaths 'walkover win' recorded from last Wednesday, when they were meant to be playing St Caths, has also been erased (sadly!!).  On the 2 Wednesdays when St Caths were due to set (10th January & 28th March) the papers will be set by a Guest setter (Gary Donely and myself will sort something out).

Please do have a look at the Message Board to see the tributes to St Caths from Kieran and Damian.  I do hope Mike H can get a peek at these messages.
