Results & Match Reports

Albert Park succumbed to high-flying X-Pats in a relatively low-scoring game at the Albert Club.

Electric Pigs suffered a similar fate at the hands of Ethel Rodin and by exactly the same scores.  A full team of History Men was in attendance to encourage the two teams.

Napier Girls were comprehensively defeated by an upwardly mobile Opsimaths. This result will greatly encourage the chasing pack.

2 FCEKs won handsomely against Snoopy's at the Stadium of Murk, but only after losing the first half by a point.  Very much a game of 2 halves.

Quiz Paper Verdict

History Men belied their name in this week's quiz with a large number of sports questions (it seemed to me).  A few moans about the low scoring nature of the quiz but no major complaints.  There was an error in Round 8 Question 2 which Ivor was quick to acknowledge (apparently the chemical formula of methanoic acid is HCOOH).  Please feel free to use the message board if you would like to make any further comments about the quiz.  Since we all have to set the quiz at some stage it is invaluable to get feedback.

The Question of the Week

The vote this week goes to Round 3 Question 4:

Which piece of sporting equipment, as specified by its governing body, must be between 100mm and 125mm in circumference and have a minimum length of 33.5 metres?

Chatterbox

Thanks for all the wonderfully positive feedback about the website.  I was mildly surprised to receive messages from as far a field as Portsmouth about the delay in publishing last week's quiz, but I suppose that's a testament to the standard of our league.  Just keep letting me know if there are are further glitches.
