Results & Match Reports

Electric Pigs struggled to keep on terms with Opsimaths after taking an early lead and, despite great success with the picture questions, Opsimaths returned to winning ways.

Ethel Rodin slaughtered Snoopy's Friends in the most one-sided game of the night.

History Men entertained 2 FKECs (in more ways than one) in the highest scoring game of the night with the visitors taking the honours.

Napier Girls did enough against X-Pats in a fairly low-scoring game at the Griffin.

Quiz Paper Verdict

The Albert produced a paper which was generally not well received. Unfortunately the pairing was an issue for the second week running but no one has suggested that this affected the outcome of any game.  I am happy to report, however, that your acting webmaster enjoyed the large number of questions which seemed to invite an intelligent guess (or in my case just a guess).  It's impossible to please everyone and perhaps the converse also applies.

Stop Press (08/12)

Judging by the emails received today, the above remarks are not shared by all. Some very positive remarks about the paper have been received, not least from Electric Pigs who point out that this is despite losing. I think I'll shut up about the paper in future weeks.....

The Question of the Week

Nominated by Roz from Ethel Rodin, the QotW this week is Round 6 Question 2:

The fake blood used in theatrical productions has been named by thespians after which West London thoroughfare?

Fr Megson

A Postcard from Father M

The good father appears to have slipped up in his sermon writing duties again.

However, I am pleased to be able to report that a postcard sent from his last pilgrimage to Eastern Europe has finally arrived.

There is a slight element of concern about the subject of the postcard, but I'm sure that we're all aware of the purely innocent and academic interest that he takes in public lavatories.

No doubt Father Megson will explain all in due course.
