With the Girls setting, the History Men manage to draw level at the top |
The Results |
Albert won at home to The Men TCH, in what Mary described as "a very enjoyable quiz" Albert Park slipped to a narrow defeat at the trotters of the Electric Pigs in the second of this season's 6 Albert Club derby matches Ethel Rodin lost the Stadium of Murk derby to Charabancs of Fire - Damian writes:
Snoopy's Friends lost at the Didsbury to the revivified Opsimaths X-Pats, handicapped by having just 3 players, lost at the Sun in September to the History Men who have been getting back into stonking form over the past few weeks |
The Paper |
The
Napier Girls
set this week. The average aggregate score (72.0) was by
some margin the highest so far this season. So certainly
not too difficult. The verdict from the White Swan:
"A fairly
straightforward quiz if a bit liberally sprinkled with questions
on song, sport and sex (but no speed). The Charas wanted
to nominate the one about the tittles (Round 7 Question 1) as Q
of the W but it caused a near riot amongst Madame Rodin and her
ladies because the QM failed to make it clear that '6' was
written as a number and not in letters - so we decided the Q of
the W nomination might not go down too well. Instead,
therefore, we plumped for the spare about what, in 1865, changed
from 52 to 54."
At the Didsbury,
Snoopy's and the Opsimaths found the paper made for a pretty
jolly evening. No big arguments (for once) and plenty of
good beer. Alice would like to thank the Girls for copious
amounts of pop questions that were right up her street.
She was undoubtedly the star points-grabber for the Opsimaths.
And from the Sun in
September the History en come to exactly the same conclusion
about the Q of the W nomination:
