The Paper

History Men set this week.  A typical History Men's paper - plenty of brain fodder, some ingenious themes and an average aggregate score in the 50s.  Ivor thought the motorbike-themed round (Round 4) would prove the hardest to unlock, but in the event it was Round 3 themed on Dad's Army characters that defeated both teams until almost the last question of the round.

The Albert Club was buzzing with brainpower for almost 3 hours as the hard-fought matches ground their way to conclusions.  History Men and Charabancs were there in force to cheer on the victors, commiserate with the losers, and defend the paper.

All in all a great evening.  Over to you, Girls, for a victory next Wednesday over Chunky.

The Question of the Week

The vote this week comes from me and goes to Round 3 Question 1:

What name is given to the subdivisions of Iceland, Gloucestershire, the Swedish province of Jamtland and Tolkien’s fictional Shire?

Chatterbox

Next week sees the Final of the WIST Champions Cup between our own Napier Girls and Chunky, the top team from the Stockport league.  The match will kick off at around 8.30pm at Heaton Moor Rugby Union Football Club (Green Lane, Heaton Moor, Stockport SK4 2NF, Tel: 0161 432 1757).  I hope as many as possible will make it along to Heaton Moor.

The week after (8.15 at the Albert Club) is our own End of Season Presentation evening.  Plenty of quizzing and one or two surprises - and if you can make it to the club for 6.30 that evening, Andrew and Gary (from the Pigs) will be helping out with Bowling lessons on the Club's famous green.
