The Historymen romp home in the Val Draper Cup Final in West Didsbury; over in the Village the Pigs land the Plate |
Results & Match Reports |
The Historymen started 3 points ahead and just didn't stop going, leaving the Smoke Fairies in their wake. A wonderful final marked by merriment and an appreciative crowd. At the close the naturally happy smile which normally envelops Ivor's face had turned into an unnatural grin which (I wouldn't mind betting) is still there. We thought of ringing his wife, Alison, to warn her but, what with one thing and another......A well-deserved victory for a great team. They all played their part including Peter who nobly volunteered for the bench. There were many high points to the evening but Anne proclaiming Round 4 Question 5 as "another chuffing chough question" was pretty special.
