...and so to bed

What an excellent quiz with which to end the season!  Mike Wagstaffe was tempted over the bridge from Stockport with a bottle of whisky and he delivered a cracking end of season quiz paper - 4 rounds each of 25 questions punctuated with the usual cup and trophy presentations.  To see his paper click here.

The focus of the presentations this year was the QM role.  8 of our finest QMs (Eric, Mary, Jitka, Carmel, Jane, Dominic, Bob and Gilly) were thanked and rewarded for their tireless efforts over many years to deliver eloquently and fairly the contorted ramblings of countless setters.  In the 'QM United' photo below Kieran stood in for Bob and Dave for his wife, Gilly.  Many thanks from all of us!

As is the custom the teams voted for the 'Question of the Season' from the 29 'Questions of the Week' published on the website throughout the season.  The results are shown below.  Gerry duly picked up a bottle of champagne on behalf of the Charabancs.

Now me?  Well, after a few hours kip I was up bright and early to get the very first tram from East Didsbury to West Didsbury which left at 05.49am on Thursday May 23rd.  The evidence is below in case you don't believe it.  Who should be there to greet me but Andrew Simcock proud as punch to see the tram project on track linking his ward to the buzzing metropolis that is West Didsbury.

So that's it for the 2012/13 season.  We'll stir into life mid September and hope to get the league underway late September/early October when we'll do it all over again.
