The scoring was spectacularly high""Plenty of twos (indeed if you were in any doubt and didn't go for a two then there's a good chance that your team lost). But on the down side an experimental dalliance with a new sort of round (Round 4) that missed the mark - for some teams by quite a mile."

The stats show that it was a very well-balanced paper with only four unanswered questions and a combined score of 80.""Most of you seemed to enjoy the craft that went into the Bingo rounds at the end of the evening. Not just well-judged questions but plenty of quirky information on the side that delighted all."

We enjoyed the paper. Lots of variety and, even if some of the pairings were a bit unbalanced, it seemed to even out overall.""A fairly conventional paper with three rounds of paired questions, a bit of 'Double entendre' material in Round 2, a 'Missing item in a list' round, a couple of themed rounds and a 'Pick Your Own Doom' in Round 8."

Every round themed on a particular topic with only one of these themes hidden..... loads of invention (which I think is the glory of our laissez-faire format) with special praise for the Post Code lottery in Round 6.""It is fair to say that both teams found the first half of the quiz hard going but the second half seemed far more accessible."

"
A gloriously retro affair perfectly in tune with our celebration season when we are looking back over the past 40 years quizzing that has got us to where we are. ""No themes, no pairs, no run-ons, no bingo and no essays attached to the answer to inform you of everything the question-setter also knows about the subject in question."

A very interesting and enjoyable quiz""It was a very odd quiz in that it didn't feel at all easy and yet there were twos just lying in the street waiting to be picked off.....in other words the senior quiz wranglers from Old Lansdowne Road snuck a belter of a paper past us and no one noticed until it was all over."

A very low-scoring paper....the last round was pretty unpopular, given that about half of the questions, particularly the first two, could only be answered by guesswork""We generally enjoyed the paper, with a number of questions causing furious conferring on both sides"

Quite a high scoring game......the match speeded up in the second half - as can be imagined the complexities of spoonerisms and run-ons did result in a few 'constipaters' in the first half.""Tonight's paper ...... was a real brainteaser with plenty for the old grey matter to chew on."
