HIDDEN LINKS
In this type of round each question consists of a number of clues (often 4 pictures) which when identified share a hidden link.
Typically you are asked to identify the hidden link (and sometimes the identity of the items which justify the link); sometimes you are asked to name the next in sequence after the linked items specified in the question.
So, for instance, pictures of Michelle Collins, Julia Sawalha, Martha Kearney and Rita Tushingham would be linked by the fact that each has a forename that appears in the title of one of the Beatles' songs...
...or pictures indicating Edinburgh, Dover and Portsmouth would be linked by being the respective end points of UK 'A' roads A1, A2 and A3 - with Avonmouth (end point of the A4) being the answer to what is the next in sequence.
Beware! Homophones are frequently used in this sort of round so that, for instance, a picture of the location of Ayr on a map might well stand for the River Aire in Yorkshire in a linked set of clues to the names of Yorkshire rivers.
