WORDLES
This type of round usually consists of 10 questions each showing a 'Wordle' of a well-known text (often the lyrics from a song). The challenge is usually to identify the source of the text (e.g. song, speaker or writer).
A 'Wordle' is a randomised word picture created from a particular text. A word’s size in the picture is determined by the number of times it occurs in the text. Common English words (e.g. ‘and’ and ‘to’), as well as proper names that might make the source too obvious (e.g. words that appear in the title of a song) are omitted. For longer texts only the 150 most frequently occurring words are used. For example the text in this paragraph might appear as:
